Configuring CIMOM log

Use the Configuring CIMOM Log panel in the SAN Volume Controller Console to set up logging for the Common Information Model object manager (CIMOM) interface that resides on a cluster. To view the CIMOM log, open Service and Maintenance > List Dumps from the SAN Volume Controller Console portfolio.

Fields

You can update the following fields:
Select a level of log detail
Select the a logging level for the CIMOM log. The following values can be selected:
Default
Select this option to log errors at a normal level. This option provides standard tracing without affecting performance of the CIMOM interface.
Debug
Select this option to log errors with a higher level of detail. With this option, there can be a moderate impact to performance for the CIMOM interface.
Note: The debug level should be used only under the direction of IBM® Support.
Max
Select this option to include all CIMOM tracing components and logging details.
Note: The max option should be used for short intervals and under the direction of IBM Support. This logging level can have a significant impact on the performance of the CIMOM interface.

Actions

The following actions are available:

OK
Click this button to accept the configuration settings for the CIMOM log.
Cancel
Click this button to exit the panel without configuring settings for the CIMOM log.
