Use the Select an I/O Group panel in the Select the
I/O group and the preferred node to handle I/O traffic for the virtual
disks (VDisks) that you are creating. Optionally, you can select
to allow the system to choose the I/O group and the preferred node,
which balances I/O traffic for the VDisk across multiple nodes.
Attributes
The
following attributes for available I/O groups are displayed in the
table:
- Name
- Displays the name of all the available I/O groups.
- Node Count
- Displays the number of nodes in the I/O group. The number can
be 0, 1, or 2.
- VDisk Count
- Displays the number of VDisks that are currently a part of this
I/O group.
- Host Count
- Displays the number of hosts that are mapped to this I/O group.
Fields
You
can update the following fields:
- Let the system choose a preferred node and I/O group
- Select this option if you want the system to select the preferred
node and I/O group. If you select this option, other fields on this
page are disabled. De-select this option if you want to manually select
preferred nodes and I/O groups.
Note: When you let the system choose
the preferred node and the I/O group, the system performs workload
balancing by managing the I/O traffic for the VDisks across multiple
nodes.
- Select the I/O Group
- Select an I/O group from the list of available I/O groups for
the VDisk that you are creating.
- Select an I/O group from the list of available I/O groups for
the VDisk that you are creating or let the system choose the I/O group.
Note: When
you let the system choose the preferred node and the I/O group, the

the VDisks across multiple nodes.
- Select Preferred Node
- Select the preferred node for the VDisk that you are creating.
- Select the preferred node for the VDisk that you are creating
