Creating VDisk for use as FlashCopy targets–Select MDisks group

Introduction

The Select MDisks group panel in the Creating VDisk for Use as FlashCopy Targets wizard is dynamic and only displays the options that are available when you have selected different attributes.

Fields

Sequential VDisk

When you have selected to create a sequential target VDisk, you can update the following fields for sequential VDisks:

Managed Disk Group

Select the MDisk group for the target VDisk.

Use a single managed disk

Select this option to create a target VDisk from a single MDisk.

Choose 1 managed disks

Select the MDisks to use for the target VDisk.

VDisk Capacity

Select the total capacity of the target VDisk that is presented to hosts.

Real size to initially allocate

Select the size to allocate to the space-efficient target VDisk. You can either select a percentage for the size or specify the size allocation in megabytes (MB).

Note: This field is only available if you have selected to create a space-efficient target VDisk.

Striped VDisks

You can update the following fields for striped VDisks:

Managed Disk Group

Select the MDisk group for the striped VDisk.

Source VDisk Capacity

Displays the total capacity of the source VDisk that is presented to hosts.

Target VDisk Capacity

Displays the total capacity of the target VDisk that is presented to hosts. The source VDisk determines the capacity of the target VDisk.

Real size to initially allocate

Select the size to allocate to the space-efficient VDisk. You can either select a percentage for the size or specify the size allocation in megabytes (MB). Absolute values are converted and displayed as a percentage.

Note: This field is only available if you have selected to create a space-efficient VDisk.

Actions

The following actions are available:

Back

Click this button to return to the previous wizard panel.

Next

Click this button after you have completed this panel.

Cancel

Click this button to exit this wizard without creating the target VDisk.
