Use the Verify Attributes panel in the Creating a VDisk
for FlashCopy® Targets
wizard in the SAN Volume Controller Console to
validate that the attributes for the new target virtual disk (VDisk)
are correct.
Attributes
The
following attributes are displayed in the table:
- Source VDisk
- Displays the name of the source VDisk.
- Target VDisk
- Displays the name of the source VDisk.
- Type
- Displays the VDisk type. The following values are possible:
- Striped
- Indicates that the target VDisk was created from multiple managed
disk (MDisks) that are in the specified MDisk group or groups. Extents
are allocated on the MDisks in the specified order.
- Sequential
- Indicates that the target VDisk was created from one MDisk in
the specified MDisk group or groups. Extents are sequentially allocated
on the MDisk.
- Number of VDisk to create
- Displays the number of target VDisks which are being created.
- I/O Group Name
- Displays the name of the I/O group that contains this target VDisk.
- MDisk Group Name
- Displays the name of the MDisk group that contains this target
VDisk.
- VDisk Name
- Displays the name of the target VDisk.
- Preferred Node
- Displays the name of the preferred node for the target VDisk.
- Managed Disk
- Displays the names of the MDisk from which this target VDisk is
created.
- Capacity
- Displays the size of the target VDisk in megabytes.
- Space to initially allocate
- Displays the amount of space that is allocated for a space-efficient
target VDisk and for copies of the VDisk. This value can be displayed
in either megabytes (MB) or in a percentage.
- Warning level
- Displays the warning threshold for used capacity of the target
VDisk. When this value is reached, a message is sent to notify you
that the used capacity of the VDisk has been reached. This value is
displayed as a percentage.
- Format before use
- Indicates whether the target VDisk is formatted before use.
- Autoexpand
- Indicates if the real size is automatically expanded for the target
VDisk. The following values are possible:
- Grain size
- Displays the grain size in kilobytes (KB) for the target VDisk.
- Cache Mode
- Select the type of cache mode to use for the target VDisk. The
following values are possible:
- Read/Write
- Indicates that all read and write I/O operations that are performed
by the target VDisk are stored in the cache.
- None
- Indicates that all read and write I/O operations that are performed
by the target VDisk are not stored in the cache.
- Unit Device Identifier
- Displays the unit device identifier for the target VDisk. This
attribute is used only by hosts that are using the OpenVMS operating
system. For other operating systems, setting a unit device identifier
is not required.
- Mirrored
- Displays whether the target VDisk contains mirrored copies.
- Synchronization Rate
- Displays the mirror synchronization rate for the target VDisk.
A value of zero (0) disables synchronization. The default value is
50 (2 MB per second).
The following table shows the relationship of the
rate value to the data copied per second.
