Creating VDisk for use as FlashCopy targets–Introduction
You can use the Creating VDisk for use as FlashCopy Targets wizard in the SAN Volume Controller Console to create target virtual disks (VDisks) with the selected source VDisk to use in a FlashCopy mappings.

Creating VDisk for use as FlashCopy targets–Set attributes
You can set attributes for a virtual disk (VDisk) on the Set Attributes panel in the Creating VDisk for use as FlashCopy Targets wizard in the SAN Volume Controller Console. You can choose to create a striped or sequential disk, select a method for caching data, and set other attributes related to the VDisk that you are creating.

Creating VDisk for use as FlashCopy targets–Select MDisks group
You can select attributes for either striped or sequential virtual disks (VDisks) from the Select MDisks Group panel in the Creating VDisk for Use as FlashCopy Targets wizard in the SAN Volume Controller Console. For striped VDisks, data is striped at the extent level. One extent is allocated from each managed disks (MDisks) in the selected MDisk group. Sequential VDisks can have data stored sequentially on a single MDisk.

Use the Name the VDisk panel in the Creating VDisks for Use as FlashCopy Targets wizard to specify a name for your target virtual disk (VDisk) or VDisks.

Use the Results panel in the Creating VDisks for Use as FlashCopy targets wizard to monitor the progress of the target virtual disks (VDisks) that are being created. A table of results displays when the target VDisks creation progress completes.
