Use the Deleting a Copy from VDisk panel in the SAN Volume Controller Console to
delete a mirrored copy from the selected virtual disk (VDisk). If the VDisk that you are creating
uses Solid State Drives (SSDs) that reside inside the
node, then the data that is stored on the VDisk is not protected against
SSD or node failures. To avoid data loss, add a VDisk copy that uses
SSDs inside another node.
Attributes
The
following attributes are displayed in the table:
- Select
- Allows you to select the VDisk copy to delete.
- Copy ID
- Displays the system-assigned identifier for the mirrored copy
of the selected VDisk.
- Status
- Displays the current status of a mirrored copy of the selected
VDisk. The following values are possible:
- Offline
- Indicates that the copy is unavailable. One or more of the managed
disks (MDisks) that make up the VDisk are degraded or offline and
consequently the VDisk copy is unavailable.
- Online
- Indicates that the copy is available. All the MDisks that make
up the VDisk copy are available.
- Synchronize
- Displays if the VDisk copies are synchronized. The following values
are possible:
- Yes
- Indicates that the VDisk copies are synchronized.
- No
- Indicates that the VDisk copies are not synchronized.
- Primary
- Indicates if the VDisk copy is the primary copy.
- MDisk Group ID
- Displays the system-assigned identifier for the managed disk (MDisk)
group associated with the VDisk copy.
- MDisk Group Name
- Displays the name of the MDisk group associated with the VDisk
copy.
- Type
- Displays the type of VDisk copy. The following values are possible:
- Striped
- Indicates that the VDisk copy was created from multiple MDisks
that are in the MDisk group. Extents are allocated on the MDisks in
the specified order.
- Sequential
- Indicates that the VDisk copy was created from one MDisk that
is in the MDisk group. Extents are sequentially allocated on the MDisk.
- Image
- Indicates that the VDisk copy was created from one MDisk.
- Used Capacity
- Displays the amount of space that has been used by the VDisk copy.
- Real Capacity
- Displays the real size of a VDisk copy. This capacity is displayed
in a percentage.
- Free Capacity
- Displays the amount of space that is available to the VDisk copy.
Fields
The
following field can be updated:
- Force delete
- Select this to force the deletion of the VDisk copy. To complete
the deletion process for a selected mirrored VDisk copy, use the Force
delete option to force the deletion in the following situations:
- Migration to an image mode VDisk is in progress for the selected
VDisk copy.
- If the selected VDisk copy is an image mode with virtual medium
errors.
- The cache is not empty for an image mode VDisk copy.
- The image mode VDisk copy is not synchronized.
- If the copy being deleted is the last synchronized VDisk copy,
the VDisk and all its copies are deleted.
Actions
The
following actions are available:
- OK
- Click this button to delete the selected VDisk copy.
- Cancel
- Click this button to exit the panel without deleting the selected
VDisk copy.
