Use the Manage E-mail Service panel in the SAN Volume Controller Console to
change e-mail service settings, test error notifications, change contact
details, and stop e-mail service. You can also
add up to six additional e-mail servers. The SAN Volume Controller contacts
each e-mail server in succession until a response is returned.
Attributes
The
following attributes are displayed in the table for the e-mail server:
- Select
- Allows you to select the e-mail server to use to complete an action
from the task list.
- Server Name
- Displays the unique name that is assigned to the e-mail server.
- IP Address
- Displays the IP address of the e-mail server. Both
IPv4 or IPv6 addresses are supported.
- Port
- Displays the port number for the e-mail server. This must be a
value of 0 - 65535. The default value is 25.
Actions
You
can select one of the following tasks from the task list to work with
e-mail service:
- Add E-mail Server
- Modify E-mail Server
- Delete E-mail Server
Note: With the exception of the Add E-mail Server task,
you must first select a server before you can select a task.
- Go
- Click this button after selecting a task from the task list. Clicking Go launches
the panel for the task that you selected.
The following actions are also available:
- Stop E-mail Service
- Click this button to stop e-mail service.
- Send Test E-mail
- Click this button to send a test e-mail notification.
- Return
- Click this button to return to the previous panel.
Attributes
The
following attributes are displayed for the contact settings:
- E-mail Reply Address
- Displays the e-mail address to which a reply is sent.
- Contact Name
- Displays the name of the person who receives the
e-mail reply.
- Machine Location
- Displays the location of the SAN Volume Controller cluster.
- Phone (Primary)
- Displays the primary telephone number of the contact
person.
- Phone (Alternate)
- Displays the alternate telephone number of the contact
person.
Actions
- Modify Contact Detail Settings
- Click this button to change the contact information for e-mail
event notifications.
