Active

The port is operational and can access the fibre-channel fabric.

Inactive

The port is operational but cannot access the fibre-channel fabric. One of the following conditions caused this result:

• The fibre-channel cable has failed
• The fibre-channel cable is not installed
• The device that is at the other end of the cable has failed

Failed

The port is not operational because of a hardware failure.

Not installed

This port is not installed.

To display the current fibre-channel port speed, press and hold the down button, press and release the select button, and release the down button. For the SAN Volume Controller 2145-8F2 or the SAN Volume Controller 2145-4F2, you can also use this action to change the fibre-channel port speed of a node that is not participating in a cluster, by pressing the up or down buttons.
