Creating FlashCopy mappings–Select the target VDisk

Use the Select the Target VDisks panel in the Create FlashCopy® Mappings wizard to select the virtual disk (VDisk) for the target of the FlashCopy operation.

Attributes

The following attributes are displayed in the table:

Select
Allows you to select the VDisk to use as the target for the FlashCopy mapping.
Note: Only one row can be selected at a time.
Name
Displays the name of the VDisk.
State
Displays the current state of the VDisk. The following states are possible:
Online
Indicates that the VDisk is online and available if both nodes in the I/O group can access the VDisk. A single node can only access a VDisk if it can access all the managed disks (MDisks) in the MDisk group that are associated with the VDisk.
Offline
Indicates that the VDisk is offline and unavailable if both nodes in the I/O group are missing or none of the nodes in the I/O group that are present can access the VDisk.
Degraded
Indicates that the VDisk is degraded if one node in the I/O group is online and the other node is either missing or cannot access the VDisk.
I/O Group
Displays the name of the I/O group that the VDisk is a member of.
MDisk Group
Displays the name of the MDisk group that this VDisk belongs to. The value Many indicates that this VDisk has multiple copies, which can be on different MDisks.
Capacity (MB)
Displays the size of the VDisk.
Type
Displays the type of VDisk. The following types of VDisks are possible:
Striped
Indicates that the VDisk was created from multiple MDisks that are in the MDisk group. Extents are allocated on the MDisks in the specified order.
Sequential
Indicates that the VDisk was created from one MDisk that is in the MDisk group. Extents are sequentially allocated on the MDisk.
Image
Indicates that the VDisk was created from one MDisk that is in the MDisk group. Provides a direct block-for-block translation from the MDisk to the VDisk. This type of VDisk is intended for MDisks that already contain data that was not written through the SAN Volume Controller.
Many
Indicates that the VDisk has multiple copies, which can have different types.
FC Pair
Displays the name of the FlashCopy mapping that this VDisk is part of. The term Many is displayed if the VDisk belongs to more than one mapping.
FC Map Count
Displays the number of FlashCopy mappings that the source VDisk belongs to.
Relationship Name
Displays the name of Metro Mirror or Global Mirror mappings that this VDisk belongs to.
UID
Displays the unit identifier of the VDisk.
