Forcing the deletion of a FlashCopy mapping

When you select a FlashCopy mapping that is in the Copying state to delete, the Forcing the Deletion of a FlashCopy Mapping panel in the SAN Volume Controller Console is displayed. On this panel you can select Force Stop and Delete to stop the selected FlashCopy mapping and all mappings that depend on this mapping are also stopped. After the mapping is in the Stopped state, the mapping is deleted.

Fields

Select one of the following options:
Normal Stop
Select this option to have the FlashCopy mapping to move into the Stopping state. If this mapping has other dependent mapping that are associated with it, it enters the Stopping state until all data from the target virtual disk (VDisk) has been copied.
Split Stop
Select this option to stop the mapping immediately when the copy progress is 100%. This action does not affect other dependent mappings; rather, this action removes this mapping from the other dependent mappings.
Forced Stop
Select this option to stop the FlashCopy mapping immediately. This action stops all dependent mappings and causes the target VDisk to become unavailable.

Actions

The following actions are available:

Force Stop and Delete
Click this button to force the selected FlashCopy mapping to stop and delete it once it has stopped.
Cancel
Click this button to exit the panel without stopping and deleting the FlashCopy mapping.
