Viewing port details for hosts

Use the Viewing Port Details panel in the SAN Volume Controller Console to display the ports that are assigned to a host.

Attributes

The following attributes are displayed in the table:

Name
Displays the name of the port that is assigned to the host. This can either be a worldwide port name (WWPN) if the host attaches to the SAN Volume Controller cluster using fibre-channel connections or an iSCSI qualified name (IQN) if the host attaches to the SAN Volume Controller cluster using iSCSI connections.
State
Indicates the current state of the port. The following values are possible:
Active
Indicates that all nodes with virtual disk (VDisk) mappings for this host have a login for the either the WWPN or iSCSI qualified name (IQN) that is displayed. At least one node has received SCSI commands from the port in the last five minutes.
Inactive
Indicates that all nodes with VDisk mappings for this host have a login for the specified port. None of these nodes has received SCSI commands from either the WWPN or iSCSI qualified name (IQN) in the last five minutes.
Offline
Indicates that one or more I/O groups with VDisk mappings for this host do not have a login that is specified for either the WWPN or iSCSI qualified name (IQN) that is displayed.
Degraded
Indicates that one or more nodes with VDisk mappings for this host do not have a login specified for the either the WWPN or iSCSI qualified name (IQN) that is displayed.
Port Type
Displays the port type for the selected host. The following values are possible:
Fibre Channel
Indicates that the port that is displayed for the selected host attaches to the cluster using fibre-channel connections.
iSCSI
Indicates that the port that is displayed for the selected host attaches to the cluster using iSCSI connections.
Nodes Logged In Count
Displays the number of nodes that currently are logged into the host using the displayed port.
