Increasing the size of a cluster

You can use the SAN Volume Controller Console to increase the size of a cluster.

Increasing the size of cluster by adding the number of node in the cluster increases throughput. The nodes must be added in pairs and assigned to a new I/O group.

Complete the following steps to increase the size of your cluster:

Add a node to your cluster and repeat this step for the second node.
If you want to balance the load between the existing I/O groups and the new I/O groups, you can migrate your virtual disks (VDisks) to new I/O groups; see Migrating VDisks for details. Repeat this step for all VDisks that you want to assign to the new I/O group.
