To issue command-line interface (CLI) commands to the cluster
from a host, you must prepare the Secure Shell (SSH) client on the
host so that the host is accepted by the SSH server on the cluster.
To use a host that requires a different type of SSH client,
OpenSSH for example, follow the instructions for that software.
Perform
the following steps to enable your host to issue CLI commands:
- For the IBM® System Storage® Productivity
Center or master console and Windows® hosts:
- Generate an SSH key pair using the PuTTY key generator.
- Store the SSH clients public key on the cluster (using
a browser that points to the SAN Volume Controller Console).
- Configure the PuTTY session for the CLI.
- For other types of hosts:
- Follow the instructions that are specific to the SSH
client to generate an SSH key pair.
- Store the SSH clients public key on the cluster (using
a Web browser to point to the SAN Volume Controller Console or
the CLI from an already established host).
- Follow the instructions that are specific to the SSH
client to establish an SSH connection to the SAN Volume Controller cluster.
