If you purchased the software-only master console option, you must install the master console software on your own hardware before you can configure and use the SAN Volume Controller. If you have the purchased the master console hardware option and the IBM® service representative has finished installing it, you can skip the master console software installation instructions and start configuring the master console.
Before you install the master console software, you must ensure that you have met all the prerequisites for installing the software as provided by the IBM System Storage® SAN Volume Controller Planning Guide.
