Use the Forcing the
Deletion of a Managed Disk (MDisk)
Group panel in the SAN Volume Controller Console to
confirm the forced deletion of the MDisk group when a virtual disk
(VDisk) is still using the MDisk group, or when one or more MDisks
exist in the group.
Introduction
If
you force deletion of the MDisk group, the following
results occur:
- All VDisk copies in this MDisk group are deleted.
- If a VDisk has no remaining copies, the VDisk is
deleted.
- If a VDisk has no synchronized copies remaining,
the VDisk is deleted to avoid presenting inconsistent data to the
user.
- For VDisks that are deleted, all associated VDisk-to-host
mappings and Copy Services definitions are deleted.
- All data
on any MDisks within the group is lost and
you cannot recover the data.
Note: If a VDisk has a synchronized
copy in another MDisk group,
the copy is deleted from the VDisk, but the VDisk is not deleted.
