You can use the Migrate Extents wizard in the SAN Volume Controller Console to migrate data from extents on a source MDisk to a target MDisk.
Migrating extents–Introduction
Use
the Migrating Extents wizard in the SAN Volume Controller Console to
migrate extents that belong to a virtual disk (VDisk) from source
managed
disk (MDisk) to a target MDisk. You can use this wizard to manually
balance
a VDisk or VDisk copy's extents among the MDisks in an MDisk group.
For example
you can migrate extents after a VDisk has been created and you have
added
more MDisk to an MDisk group. This wizard can only be
launched
from the VDisk panel.
Migrating extents–Select source MDisk
In the Migrate Extents wizard, you can use the Select Source
MDisk panel to select the managed disk (MDisk) from which you want
to migrate extents. You can use this panel to select an MDisk from
which to migrate extents.
Migrating extents–Select a target MDisk
Use
the Select the Target MDisk in the Migrate Extents
wizard to select the number of extents to migrate from the source
MDisk and
select the target MDisk that the extents are migrated to.
Migrating extents–Verify migration attributes
Use the Verify
Migration Attributes panel in the Migrating Extents
wizard to verify all of the migration attributes for the MDisk extents
before
you start the migration.
