Modifying iSCSI alias

Use the Modifying iSCSI Alias panel in the SAN Volume Controller Console to create or change the iSCSI alias for the selected node. An iSCSI alias is a user-assigned name that identifies the SAN Volume Controller node to the iSCSI-attached host. It is possible to change the iSCSI alias of a node even if the node is offline.

Attributes

The following attributes are displayed:

Node Name
Displays the name of the node.
Node ID
Displays the system-assigned identifier for the node.
WWNN
Displays the worldwide node name for the selected node.
I/O Group
Displays the name of the I/O group that this node belongs to. The default name is the string io_grp, which is followed by the system-assigned ID.
iSCSI Name
Displays the iSCSI qualified name (IQN) for the node. For SAN Volume Controller nodes this is always iqn.1986-03.com.ibm:2145.<cluster name>.<node name>, where <cluster name> and <node name> depend on the values configured for the cluster.
iSCSI Alias
Displays the alias name for the node which identifies it to the iSCSI-attached host. The alias name can consist of any printable ASCII character, but cannot begin or end with a space. An alias name cannot exceed 79 characters.

Fields

The following field can be updated:
iSCSI Alias
Enter an alias for the selected node. The alias name can consist of any printable ASCII character, but cannot begin or end with a space. An alias name cannot exceed 79 characters.

Actions

The following actions are available:

OK
Click this button to change the iSCSI alias for the node.
Cancel
Click this button to exit this panel without changing the iSCSI alias for the node.
