Installing a QLogic HBA driver

If your Linux® on System p® or BladeCenter® JS host contains a QLogic host bus adapter (HBA), you must download and install the appropriate QLogic driver for the adapter.

1. Download the appropriate QLogic driver and associated files using the following steps:
   1. Use the supported hardware list on the following Web page to find the specific operating system and the QLogic HBA that is installed on your host machine.

      The specific versions of the QLogic driver and the associated firmware version are indicated on the hardware list.

   2. Ensure that your QLogic HBA is running the correct firmware version. If you need to update the firmware to the version listed on the hardware list, click on the link for the firmware version to download and install the correct version.
   3. Click the link in the HBA Driver column.
   4. Download the driver file for the driver to a local disk.
   5. Decompress the downloaded file.
2. Install the QLogic HBA driver using the instructions in the downloaded file.
3. Restart the host.
