Use the Select the Auxiliary Cluster in the Create a Metro
or Global Mirror Consistency Group wizard to select a name and the
cluster relationship to use for this Metro
Mirror or Global Mirror consistency
group.
Fields
- Consistency group
- Enter a name for the consistency group. If you do not specify
a name, a default name is assigned.
- Select the type of consistency group to create
- The following values are possible:
- Create an intra-cluster consistency group with remote cluster
- Select this option to creates an intracluster consistency
group. An intracluster consistency group contains Metro Mirror or
Global Mirror relationships where the master and auxiliary virtual
disks (VDisks) are located on different clusters. You
can select the remote cluster from the list. If you use a Metro Mirror
or Global Mirror consistency group, the master and auxiliary cluster
must be in the same consistency group. Only the consistency groups
that share the same master and auxiliary cluster are listed.
- Create an inter-cluster consistency group
- Creates an intercluster consistency group. Before a Metro
Mirror or Global Mirror relationship or consistency group can be created
with a remote cluster, a partnership between the two clusters must
be established and have the status of fully configured. If Global
Mirror or Metro Mirror relationships or consistency groups exist between
two remote clusters, those clusters must maintain their partnership.
Each cluster can maintain up to three partnerships, and each partnership
can be with a single remote cluster. As many as four clusters can
be directly associated with each other.
