Creating a Metro Mirror or Global Mirror relationship–Introduction

You can use the Create a Metro or Global Mirror Relationship wizard in the SAN Volume Controller Console to create Metro Mirror or Global Mirror relationships.

Introduction

To learn more about the Metro Mirror and Global Mirror feature and Metro Mirror and Global Mirror relationships, click View Tutorial to launch the Mirroring overview e-Learning module that describes how these Copy Services can help administrators migrate, back up, and recover data by creating copies of virtual disks (VDisks).

Within the wizard you will need to complete the following tasks to create a new Metro Mirror or Global Mirror relationship:
  • Select the auxiliary cluster
  • Filter master VDisk candidates
  • Select a master VDisk
  • Select an auxiliary VDisk
  • Set options
  • Verify settings
Note: The maximum number of Metro Mirror and Global Mirror relationships is 8192 per cluster.
