Creating a Metro Mirror or Global Mirror relationship–Select the auxiliary cluster

Use the Select the Auxiliary Cluster panel in the Creating a Metro or Global Mirror Relationship wizard to select the name, the copy type, and the cluster relationship to use for this Metro Mirror or Global Mirror relationship.

Fields

The following fields can be updated:

Relationship Name
Enter a name for the relationship. If you do not specify a name, a default name is assigned.
Copy Type
Select the copy type for the relationship.
Note: If you do not select a copy type, Metro Mirror is the default option.
The following options are possible:
Metro Mirror Relationship
Select this if you want to create a Metro Mirror relationship.
Global Mirror Relationship
Select this if you want to create a Global Mirror relationship.
Inter-cluster relationship with remote cluster
Select this option if the local cluster is the master cluster and the remote cluster is auxiliary cluster. Select the cluster to use for the auxiliary cluster from the list. Before a Metro Mirror or Global Mirror relationship or consistency group can be created with a remote cluster, a partnership between the two clusters must be established and have the status of fully configured. If Global Mirror or Metro Mirror relationships or consistency groups exist between two remote clusters, those clusters must maintain their partnership. Each cluster can maintain up to three partnerships, and each partnership can be with a single remote cluster. As many as four clusters can be directly associated with each other.
Note: If you use a Metro Mirror or Global Mirror consistency group, the master and auxiliary cluster must be in the same consistency group. Only the consistency groups that share the same master and auxiliary cluster are listed.
Intra-cluster relationship
Select this option if the local cluster is both the master and auxiliary cluster since both virtual disks (VDisks) and the remote cluster is auxiliary cluster.
