Using the quick synchronization-after-create method

This method has advantages over the full synchronization method because it does not require all the data to be copied over a constrained link. However, if the data needs to be copied, the master and auxiliary disks cannot be used until the copy is complete, which might be unacceptable.

You must still copy data from the master to the auxiliary VDisk.

Data can be copied without stopping the application at the master. Perform the following steps to create a synchronous copy:

Issue the create relationship command with the synchronization option.
Issue the stop Remote Copy relationship command with the enable access option.
Take a complete tape image (or other method of moving data) so that all data is copied from one VDisk to the other.
After the copy is complete, issue the start Remote Copy relationship command with the clean option.
