Modifying a cluster

You can access the Modifying a Cluster panel by selecting the Modify a Cluster action from the task list and clicking Go on the Viewing Clusters panel.

Attributes

The following attributes are displayed in the table:
Cluster Name
Displays the current name of the cluster.
Cluster ID
Displays the system-assigned ID of the cluster.
Cluster IP address (IPv4)
Displays the IP address for the cluster. For example, 208.77.188.166 is a valid IPv4 address.
Cluster IP address (IPv6)
Displays the IP address for the cluster. The SAN Volume Controller Console supports following IPv6 formats:
  • Eight colon-separated groups of four hexadecimal digits; for example, 1234:1234:abcd:0123:0000:0000:7689:6576
  • Eight colon-separated groups of hexadecimal digits with leading zeros omitted; for example, 1234:1234:abcd:123:0:0:7689:6576
  • Zero suppression format; for example, 1234:1234:abcd:123::7689:6576
Note: You can only suppress one set of zeros in an address.

Fields

You can update the following fields:

New Name
Enter a new name for the cluster.
Fabric Speed
Select a fabric speed for the cluster.
Attention: Changing the fabric speed on a running cluster breaks I/O service to the attached hosts. Do not change the fabric speed on a running cluster without first stopping the I/O from active hosts and forcing the hosts to flush any cached data by demounting volumes or removing drive letters. Some hosts must be restarted to detect the new fabric speed.
The following values are possible:
  • 1 Gbps
  • 2 Gbps

Actions

The following actions are available:

OK
Click this button to change the cluster.
Cancel
Click this button to exit the panel without changing the cluster.
