Perform the following steps to replace the SAN Volume Controller 2145-CF8 fibre-channel
adapter assembly:

Multiple
power cords. The product might be equipped with multiple power cords.
To remove all hazardous voltages, disconnect all power
cords.
- Remove all SFPs, as described in Removing and replacing the fibre-channel SFP connector on a SAN Volume Controller node.
- Grasp each end of the riser card, tilt the
adapter card so that the side with the PCI riser card is higher than
the opposite side, and the back is higher than the front.
- Locate the cage which houses the SFPs through
the hole in the back of the node.
- Align the fibre-channel adapter riser-card
connector with the connector on the system board.

- Press down on the top of the riser card until
the card settles in the slot.
- Anchor the adapter card assembly using two
fastening screws from the back of the node.

- Install all of the SFPs into the adapter card,
as described in Removing and replacing the fibre-channel SFP connector on a SAN Volume Controller node.
- Make sure that all cables, adapters, and other components
are installed and seated correctly and that you have not left loose
tools or parts inside the node. Make sure that all internal cables
are correctly routed. If you disconnected the fibre-channel and Ethernet
cables, make sure that each cable is reconnected to the same port
from which it was removed.
- Replace
the top cover. See Replacing the top cover.
- Place the node in the
rack. See Replacing the SAN Volume Controller in a rack.
- Replace the cable-retention
brackets and reconnect the power cables, as described in Replacing the SAN Volume Controller 2145-CF8 cable-retention brackets.
- Turn on the node.
