Use these instructions when you are prompted to replace
the operator-information panel cable
for the SAN Volume Controller 2145-CF8.
DANGER
Multiple
power cords. The product might be equipped with multiple power cords.
To remove all hazardous voltages, disconnect all power
cords.
This service action assumes that:
- The node is turned off. If you must turn off the node, ensure that its data
is mirrored and synchronized, and that there are no dependent virtual
disks (VDisks), as described in MAP 5350: Powering off a SAN Volume Controller node.
- The power cables are disconnected.
- The top cover is removed.
Perform the following steps to replace the
operator-information panel cable:
- Read the safety information to which Preparing to remove and replace parts refers.
- Thread the new cable from the operator-information panel to
the connector above the Video/USB cable connector on the right side
of the node, as shown in Figure 1.
The
following illustration shows the cable routing for the operator-information panel cable.

- Connect the cable to the connector above the Video/USB
cable connector on the right side of the node, as shown in Figure 1.
- Connect the cable to the rear of the operator-information panel.
- Replace
the top cover. See Replacing the top cover.
- If you removed the node from the rack, replace the node
in the rack, as described in Replacing the SAN Volume Controller in a rack.
- If you removed any fibre-channel or Ethernet cables,
use the labels you placed on each cable to replace all fibre-channel
and Ethernet cables in the same ports from which they were removed.
- If you removed
the power cords, replace the power cords and the cable-retention brackets,
as described in Replacing the cable-retention bracket.
- Lift the locking levers ( 1 in Figure 2) on
the slide rails and push the server 2 all
the way into the rack until it clicks into place.

- Turn on the node.
