Controlling access to disk controller systems and devices

When devices in a disk controller system are accessed through a general purpose SAN, a mechanism is needed to ensure that the devices are accessed only by SAN Volume Controllers.

Use one of the following techniques to control the access to the disk controller systems and devices:

Logical units (LUs) or managed disks (MDisks) should be made accessible to all ports on all the SAN Volume Controller nodes for a cluster.

Attention: The SAN Volume Controller does not take any action to prevent two clusters from accessing the same MDisks. If two clusters are configured so that they can see the same MDisks, data corruption is likely to occur.
