All of the users that are authorized users of the cluster
are displayed
in the Viewing Users panel in the SAN Volume Controller Console.
You can define users and the roles of the users for a cluster. You
can also
modify or delete existing users. You must have administrative authority
to
use this panel.
Attributes
The
following attributes are displayed:
- Select
- Specify
the user to work with.
Note: Only one row
can be selected at a
time.
- Name
- Displays the
name of the user.
- Role
- Displays
the current role that is assigned to the user. The following
values are possible:
- Administrator
- A user
with this role can perform all actions for a cluster.
- Service
- A user with this role can only
issue information and service
CLI commands. A person performing the service role can also view the
View
Clusters panel, launch the SAN Volume Controller Console, and view
the progress
of actions on clusters with the View Progress panel. A user in this
role can
also change the user password.
- Operator
- A user with this role can control all existing FlashCopy®, Metro
Mirror,
and Global Mirror relationships,
but cannot create or delete FlashCopy mappings
and consistency groups, nor can this user create or delete Metro
Mirror or Global Mirror relationships
and consistency groups. This user
cannot perform any actions outside of the available actions for existing FlashCopy, Metro
Mirror,
and Global Mirror relationships.
- Monitor
- A user with this
role can perform all viewing actions for a cluster. This
user cannot perform any actions that change the state of the cluster
or the
resources that the cluster manages.
Actions
You
can select one of the following tasks from the task list:
- Add
a user
- Modify a user
- Delete
a user
- Go
- Click
this button after selecting a task from the task list. Clicking Go launches
the panel for the task that you selected.
- Refresh
- Click this button to refresh the table with changed values.
