Creating a virtual disk–Name the VDisks

You can name the virtual disk (VDisk) from the Name the VDisks panel in the Create Virtual Disk wizard in the SAN Volume Controller Console.

Fields

You can update the following field:

VDisk Name
Enter the name for the VDisk or VDisks. If you are creating multiple VDisks, the name you type serves as a prefix for the VDisks. If you do not specify a name, the system assigns a name. Use the following format for the name:
  • The name can be 15 characters long.
  • The name can include letters, numbers, hyphens, and underline characters. It is not case-sensitive.
  • The first character cannot be a number.
  • The name cannot begin with the type of object. For example vdisk0001 is not valid.
