Migrating to an image mode VDisk–Introduction

You can migrate all the data that is associated with any type of virtual disk (VDisk) to an image mode VDisk using the Migrate to an Image Mode VDisk wizard in the SAN Volume Controller Console guide you through the steps for migrating data from a virtual disk to a different managed disk.

An image mode VDisk is special VDisks that have a direct relationship with one MDisk. If you have an MDisk that contains data to merge into the cluster, you can create an image mode VDisk. When migrating a VDisk to an image mode VDisk, the original VDisk can be the following types:
After the wizard is complete, the VDisk is an image mode VDisk that is mapped to one image mode MDisk. During the wizard process, you will perform the following tasks:
