Migrating to an image mode VDisk–Select the target MDisk

You must select the managed disk (MDisk) that the VDisk data will be migrated to. This step is part of the Migrate to an Image Mode Virtual Disk (VDisk) wizard in the SAN Volume Controller Console.

Introduction

The MDisk that is the target of the migrated data must meet the following requirements:
  • The selected MDisk must be in an unmanaged state.
  • The selected MDisk must be greater than or equal to the size of the VDisk.
Select the MDisk that will be the target for the data that is associated with the VDisk.
Note: If you have many MDisks, you can filter the list. In the Table Actions list, click Show Filter Row and click the link under the column to filter. This displays a new panel where you can define the filter criteria.

Attributes

The following attributes are displayed in the table:

Select
Allows you to select the MDisk that will be the target for the data that is associated with the VDisk.
Note: Only one row can be selected at a time.
Name
Displays the name of the MDisk.
State
Displays the state of the MDisk. The following values are possible:
Online
Indicates that the MDisk is online and available. All paths to the MDisk are available.
Degraded
Indicates that one or more paths to the MDisk have been lost.
Excluded
Indicates that the MDisk has been excluded from use by the cluster after repeated access errors. Run the directed maintenance procedures to determine the problem. You can reset an MDisk and include it in the cluster by running the include task.
Offline
Indicates that the MDisk is offline and unavailable. All paths to this MDisk have been lost.
Capacity
Displays the capacity of the MDisk in megabytes (MB).

Actions

The following actions are available:

Back
Click this button to return to the previous wizard panel.
Next
Click this button after you have completed this panel.
Cancel
Click this button to exit this wizard without migrating to an image mode VDisk.
