Use the View
VDisk Copy Details panel in the SAN Volume Controller Console to
display information about the copies that are associated with a selected
virtual
disks (VDisk).
Introduction
A
column displays in the table for each copy that is
associated
with the selected VDisk. The column is labeled with the copy identifier
and
contains the information that defines that copy.
Attributes
The
following attributes are displayed in the table for
each
copy that is associated with the selected VDisk:
- Status
- Displays the current status of the VDisk copy. The following values
are
possible:
- Offline
- Indicates that the VDisk
is unavailable. One or more of the managed disks
(MDisks) that make up the VDisk are degraded or offline and consequently
the
VDisk is unavailable.
- Online
- Indicates
that the VDisk is available. All the MDisks that make up the
VDisk are available.
- Synchronized
- Displays the synchronization state of the VDisk copy. The following
values
are possible:
- Yes
- Indicates that the VDisk
copy is synchronized.
- No
- Indicates
that the VDisk copy is not synchronized.
- Primary
- Indicates that the VDisk copy
is the primary copy of the VDisk.
- MDisk
Group ID
- Displays the system-assigned identifier for the managed
disk (MDisk) group
that is associated with the VDisk copy.
- MDisk
Group Name
- Displays the name of the MDisk group that is associated
with the VDisk
copy.
- Type
- Displays the type of
VDisk copy. The following values are possible:
- Striped
- Indicates that the VDisk copy was created from multiple MDisks
that are
in the MDisk group. Extents are allocated on the MDisks in the specified
order.
- Sequential
- Indicates that
the VDisk copy was created from one MDisk that is in the
MDisk group. Extents are sequentially allocated on the MDisk.
- Image
- Indicates that the
VDisk copy was created from one MDisk that is in the
MDisk group. This type provides a direct block-for-block translation
from
the MDisk to the VDisk copy. This type is intended for MDisks that
already
contain data that was not written through the SAN Volume Controller.
- MDisk ID
- Displays
the system-assigned identifier of the MDisk that provides the
extents for the VDisk copy.
- MDisk Name
- Displays the name of the MDisk that provides the extents for the
VDisk
copy.
- Fast Write State
- Indicates
if the VDisk copy has data in the cache. The following
fast write states are possible:
- Empty
- Indicates
that the VDisk copy does not have outstanding data in the cache.
- Not Empty
- The VDisk copy has unwritten
data in the cache.
- Corrupt
- The
VDisk copy can contain data in the cache,
but the space-efficient metadata can be corrupted.
- Used Capacity
- Displays the amount of
space that has been used by the VDisk copy
- Real
Capacity
- Displays the real capacity of a VDisk copy.
- Free Capacity
- Displays the amount of
space that is available to the VDisk copy.
- Overallocation
- Displays the ratio of virtual capacity to
real capacity, as a percentage.
- Autoexpand
- Displays if the VDisk copy
will automatically expand its real capacity
by allocating new extents from their MDisk group. The following values
are
possible:
- Warning
- Displays the warning level threshold. When the used capacity first
exceeds
this value, a warning message is sent. This value is displayed as
a percentage
of the capacity.
- Grain size
- Displays
the grain size in kilobytes
(KB) for the VDisk copy.
