Vital product data (VPD) is information that uniquely
records each hardware and licensed-internal-code element in the SAN Volume Controller nodes.
For each
SAN Volume Controller node,
the VPD includes the following items:
- Installed software version
- Details of the hardware configuration
- Levels of the hardware
- FRU part numbers
- FRU microcode levels
- Firmware and software component levels
- VPD for the uninterruptible power supply that is powering the
node
- Details of the cluster configuration
You can view the VPD through the SAN Volume Controller Console or
command-line interface (CLI). The VPD is automatically updated by
the system when the configuration is changed.
