Copy Services

These panel descriptions apply to all Copy Services panels that are part of the SAN Volume Controller Console. Copy Services includes FlashCopy® mappings, Metro Mirror and Global Mirror relationships, consistency groups, and Metro Mirror and Global Mirror partnerships.

Creating a FlashCopy mapping
Use the Create FlashCopy Mappings wizard in the SAN Volume Controller Console to create FlashCopy mappings between source and target virtual disks (VDisks). A FlashCopy mapping defines the relationship between a source VDisk and a target VDisk. The FlashCopy feature makes an instant copy of a VDisk at the time that the FlashCopy mapping is started.

Managing Metro Mirror or Global Mirror partnerships
These panel descriptions apply to SAN Volume Controller Console panels that relate to managing Metro Mirror or Global Mirror partnerships. A partnership is the association of two SAN Volume Controller clusters and is used to control the Metro Mirror and Global Mirror relationships that are formed between the two clusters.
