These panel descriptions apply to SAN Volume Controller Console panels
that are related to managing FlashCopy® mappings.
Modifying FlashCopy mapping
Use the Modifying FlashCopy Mapping
panel in
the SAN Volume Controller Console to
change attributes of a select FlashCopy mapping.
Deleting FlashCopy mappings
Use the Deleting FlashCopy Mapping
panel in
the SAN Volume Controller Console to
delete a selected FlashCopy mapping. You cannot
delete an active mapping. The mapping must be stopped before it can
be deleted.
Forcing the deletion of a FlashCopy mapping
When you select a FlashCopy mapping that is in the Copying
state to delete, the Forcing the Deletion of a FlashCopy Mapping panel
in the SAN Volume Controller Console is
displayed. On this panel you can select Force Stop and Delete to stop
the selected FlashCopy mapping and all mappings that depend on this
mapping are also stopped. After the mapping is in the Stopped state,
the mapping is deleted.
Starting FlashCopy mapping Use the Starting FlashCopy Mapping
panel in the SAN Volume Controller Console to
confirm the start of FlashCopy mapping
in a consistency group.
Starting FlashCopy mappings–Confirm
Use the Starting FlashCopy Mapping–Confirm panel in the SAN Volume Controller Console to
confirm that the selected FlashCopy mapping
should start. If the selected FlashCopy mapping has a target virtual
disk (VDisk) that is a source VDisk in another active FlashCopy mapping, then the FlashCopy mapping can be restarted for
a restore operation.
Preparing a FlashCopy mapping
Use the Preparing FlashCopy Mapping panel in the SAN Volume Controller Console to
confirm the selected FlashCopy mapping should be prepared. During the prepare operation for a FlashCopy mapping,
the cluster verifies that the target virtual disk (VDisk) is also
not a source VDisk in another active FlashCopy mapping. If no dependencies
for the selected mapping exist, then the mapping is prepared and can
be started. If a dependency exists, you can prepare the mapping to
restore data only.
Stopping FlashCopy mapping
Use the Stopping FlashCopy Mapping panel in
the SAN Volume Controller Console to
stop FlashCopy mapping.
Viewing FlashCopy mappings
Use the Viewing FlashCopy Mappings panel in
the SAN Volume Controller Console to
display all the FlashCopy mappings that belong to a cluster.
Viewing the FlashCopy mappings in dependent order
Use Viewing the FlashCopy Mappings in Dependent Order panel in the SAN Volume Controller Console to view a list of all FlashCopy mappings that are dependent on the user-specified mapping. The list is in order of dependency, so the last entry in the list is the first copy that was started.
Viewing the FlashCopy mappings used by a VDisk
Use the FlashCopy mappings
Used by
a VDisk panel in the SAN Volume Controller Console to
display details about a selected FlashCopy mapping
associated with the selected virtual disk (VDisk).
