These panel descriptions apply to all managed disk (MDisk)
group panels that are part of the SAN Volume Controller Console.
Adding MDisks to an MDisk group
Use the Adding MDisk to an MDisk group panel in the SAN Volume Controller Console to
add managed disks (MDisks) to an MDisk group.
Creating a managed disk group
You can create a managed disk group using the Create a
Managed
Disk Group wizard in the SAN Volume Controller Console.
A managed disk (Mdisk) group is a collection of MDisks that
jointly
contain all the data for a specified set of virtual disks (VDisks).
Deleting a managed disk group
Use the Deleting a Managed Disk Group panel in the SAN Volume Controller Console to
remove an MDisk group from the cluster. When you delete a group, all
MDisks are placed in the unmanaged state and the VDisks are removed,
and then the group is deleted.
Forcing the deletion of a managed disk group confirmation
Use the Forcing the
Deletion of a Managed Disk (MDisk)
Group panel in the SAN Volume Controller Console to
confirm the forced deletion of the MDisk group when a virtual disk
(VDisk) is still using the MDisk group, or when one or more MDisks
exist in the group.
Confirming the deletion of a managed disk from an MDisk group
Use the Confirming
the Deletion of a Managed Disk panel in the SAN Volume Controller Console to
confirm
the deletion of a managed disk. When a virtual disk (VDisk) is still
using
the MDisk, you must confirm to force the deletion of the MDisk
from the MDisk group.
Modifying managed disk groups Use
the Modifying Managed Disk Groups panel in
the SAN Volume Controller Console to
change the name or reset the capacity warning
level of a selected managed disk (MDisk) group.
Viewing managed disk groups
Use the Viewing Managed Disk Groups panel in the SAN Volume Controller Console to
display all the MDisk groups that belong to a cluster.
Viewing managed disk group details
Use the Viewing MDisk Group Details panel in the SAN Volume Controller Console to
display information about a selected MDisk group.
