The Windows NT® HBA
uses the time-out parameter to bind its recovery actions and responses
to the disk subsystem.
This information provides the steps required for setting
the TimeOutValue registry on a host running the Windows NT operating system.
- From the Run menu or command prompt, type:
Regedit32.exe
- Navigate to the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Disk
- Look for the value called TimeOutValue.
If the value called TimeOutValue does not exist,
go to step 3.a.
If the TimeOutValue exists, go to step 4.
- Click Edit → Add Value...
- For ValueName, type: TimeOutValue.
- For data type, type: REG-DWORD.
- Click OK.
- For Value data, type: 3c.
- For Base, click Hex.
- Click OK.
- If the value exists and is less than 0x0000003c
(60 decimal), perform the following steps to increase it to 0x3c.
- Click TimeOutValue.
- Click Edit → DWORD....
- For Value data, type: 3c.
- For Base, click Hex.
- Click OK.
- Exit the Regedit32 program.
- Restart your Windows
NT server for the changes to take effect.
