Fault LED has not stopped blinking

After the USB flash drive is inserted into one of USB port on the node canister that is being initialized, fault LED starts to blink, indicating that the node canister is initializing.

About this task

After the USB flash drive is inserted either of the two USB ports on the node canister that is being initialized, the fault LED () should start blinking. While it blinks, the system initializes. Normally during this process the fault LED blinks for approximately three minutes before it stops. The fault LED can be either permanently on or permanently off before when it stops blinking. The fault LEDs are located on each node canister ( 1 ).

If the fault LED does not stop blinking as expected, use the following steps to determine any necessary actions:

1. Ensure that you have waited at least three minutes from when the fault LED first started to blink. If the LED stops blinking within this time, return to the initialization wizard. If the fault LED continues to blink, proceed to 2.
2. Ensure that the system status LED () is either blinking or permanently off. If the system status LED is permanently on, proceed to step 3. If it is blinking or permanently off, turn off the switch on both power supplies. Remove the USB flash drive and then restore power to the system. Stop the initialization wizard that is running on your personal computer. Restart the initialization tool by inserting it into your personal computer and launching the wizard. Complete the steps in the wizard, but use the other node canister in the control enclosure. If after completing the initialization wizard, the fault LED does not stop blinking, contact your support representative for further assistance.
3. If the status LED is permanently on, then the system has initialized successfully. Return to the initialization wizard and continue as if the fault LED has stopped blinking. Verify the results of initialization. If the system is operational, log on to the management GUI and complete system setup. After completing system setup, check the fault LED to determine if it is still blinking. If the fault LED is still blinking, complete these steps:
   1. In the management GUI, select Monitoring > System Details > Actions > Shut Down System.
   2. Restart the system.
   3. If the fault LED continues to blink, contact your support representative.
