The initialization tool is used to perform the initial system configuration of IBM Storwize products with software/firmware release 7.1 and above. It can also be used to easily reset the superuser password or edit the service IP addresses of a running system.


Instructions
------------

This tool is supplied pre-installed on a USB flash drive that came with your control enclosure, or it can be downloaded from the support.ibm.com website.

If you downloaded this tool from the support.ibm.com website, begin by copying the contents of this zip archive file to the root directory of any USB flash drive formatted with a FAT32, ext2 or ext3 file system. 

To run the tool from the USB flash drive, complete the following steps for your operating system:


Microsoft Windows XP (32-bit) or Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

To launch the initialization tool, run the InitTool.bat file that is located in the root directory of the USB flash drive.

Apple Mac OS(R) X 10.7, Red Hat Enterprise Server 5 or Ubuntu(R) desktop 11.04

To launch the initialization tool, run the InitTool.sh file located in the root directory of the USB flash drive.
