Retrieving the SKM Server Logs

The library can download the audit and error logs from the SKM servers. You can save the logs to a location on a computer, or e-mail the logs to a recipient.

To retrieve these logs, you must have Library Managed Encryption licensed on the library (see Applying a License Key) and be running an SKM.

NOTE: This feature is available to Administrators only.

1. From the Tools menu, select EKM Management > Retrieve SKM Logs.
2. Select which log you want to retrieve.
   • Primary SKM Server Logs or
   • Secondary SKM Server Logs
3. Select a delivery method:
   • Download the log file using the browser  — Allows you to save the log file to a location on your computer.
   • Send the log file to an e-mail account — Sends the log file to a recipient.
4. If you are sending the log file to a recipient, type the recipient's e-mail address into the text box.
   
   

   NOTES: If the library e-mail account is not configured, an error message displays. For more information about configuring the library e-mail account, see Configuring the E-mail Account. Enter only one e-mail address in the Send the log file to an e-mail account text box. The library does not support e-mailing the log file to more than one e-mail address.

5. Click Apply.
6. If you are downloading the file, complete the dialog boxes that appear to save the file to a location on your computer.
7. The Progress Window displays. The Progress Window contains information on the action, elapsed time, and status of the requested operation. Do one of the following:
   • If Success displays in the Progress Window, the operation completed successfully. Click Close to close the Progress Window.
   • If Failure displays in the Progress Window, the operation did not successfully complete. Follow the instructions listed in the Progress Window to resolve any issues that occurred during the operation.
