Cleaning slots can be configured as long as there are licensed, unassigned, and empty slots available in the library. Cleaning slots are used for the library's Automatic Cleaning feature. For more information about cleaning slots, refer to About Cleaning Slots.

NOTE: This operation should not be performed concurrently by multiple administrators logged in from different locations. You can access the appropriate screens, but you cannot apply changes while another administrator is performing the same operation. |
You need administrator privileges to configure cleaning slots.
The Setup Cleaning Slot Configuration screen displays.
Under Setup Cleaning Slot Configuration, the Current Settings column lists the number of cleaning slots that are currently configured in the library. Under the New Settings column, select the number of cleaning slots to configure.

NOTE: If the Current Settings and New Settings both indicate None, and no other options are shown, then licensed, unassigned, and empty slots are not available, and none are available for cleaning. For information on how to change the number of available storage slots in order to free slots for cleaning, see Modifying Partitions. |

NOTE: If you decrease the number of cleaning slots from what is currently configured, the extra slots become unassigned and available to use as storage slots for partitions. For information on how to assign available storage slots to a new partition, see Modifying Partitions. |
The Progress Window displays. The Progress Window contains information on the action, elapsed time, and status of the requested operation. Do one of the following:
