Identifying FC I/O Blades

You can flash the green LED on a selected FC I/O blade to identify the physical location of the FC I/O blade in the library. Clicking the Identify button on the Setup - Blade Control screen causes the FC I/O blade green LED to blink rapidly for one minute.

You need administrator privileges to perform this operation.

1. From the Setup menu, select FC I/O Blades > FC I/O Blade Control.

   The Setup - FC I/O Blade Control screen displays. The screen lists all the l/O blades found in the library.

2. Locate the specific FC I/O blade you want to identify and click Identify.
3. Do one of the following:
   • If Success displays in the Progress Window, do the following:
     1. Click Close to close the Progress Window.
     2. Access the back of the physical library.
     3. Identify the FC I/O blade with the rapidly blinking LEDs. The LEDs are located at the bottom of the FC I/O blade.
   • If Failure displays in the Progress Window, the operation failed. Follow the instructions listed in the Progress Window to resolve any issues that occurred during the operation.
