Resetting FC I/O Blade Ports

Resetting individual FC I/O blade ports can help troubleshoot FC I/O blade issues.

Resetting an FC I/O blade port will disrupt any ongoing communication to the port.

NOTE: This operation should not be performed concurrently by multiple administrators logged in from different locations. You can access the appropriate screens, but you cannot apply changes while another administrator is performing the same operation.

You need administrator privileges to reset FC I/O blade ports.

1. From the Setup menu, select FC I/O Blades > Blade Control.

   The Setup - FC I/O Blade Control screen displays. The screen lists all the FC I/O blades found in the library.

2. Identify the FC I/O blade port you want to reset.

   NOTE: Before resetting FC I/O blade ports, verify the location of the FC I/O blade. See Identifying FC I/O Blades for more information.

3. Click a port button.
4. Click OK to acknowledge the warning message about communication loss. The Progress Window displays. The Progress Window contains information on the action, elapsed time, and status of the requested operation.

1. • If Success displays in the Progress Window, the operation was successful. Click Close to close the Progress Window.
   • If Failure displays in the Progress Window, the operation was not successful. Follow the instructions listed in the Progress Window to resolve any issues that occurred during the operation.
