The removal of the DS CLI application from an OpenVMS system requires
not only a removal from your main system but also a removal from your startup,
login, and shutdown processes.
Perform the following steps to remove the CLI from your OpenVMS system:
- Log on to your host system as a user with SYSLCK, SYSNAM, SYSPRV
(or a system group UIC), TMPMBX, and CMKRNL privileges.
- Type the following command at the command prompt to start the uninstallation
process: PRODUCT REMOVE IBMDSCLI. A message similar
to the following is displayed.
The following product has been selected:
IBM AXPVMS DSCLI V5.0-1F96 Layered Product
Do you want to continue? [YES]
- Press Enter to confirm the uninstallation. The following uninstallation
confirmation message with completion status is displayed.
The following product will be removed from destination:
IBM AXPVMS DSCLI V5.0-1F96 DISK$V732_ALPHA:[VMS$COMMON.]
Portion done: 0%...10%...20%...30%...40%...50%...60%...70%...80%...90%...100%
When the uninstallation process ends, a message similar
to the following is displayed.
The following product has been removed:
IBM AXPVMS DSCLI V5.0-1F96 Layered Product
- Remove the command-line interface startup, login, and shutdown
functions from your system startup, login, and shutdown processes.
