Copy Services is a collection of functions that provide disaster
recovery, data migration, and data duplication functions. Copy Services runs
on the DS6000™ storage
unit and supports open systems, zSeries®, and iSeries™ environments.
Copy Services provides the following features:
- Point-in-time copy (FlashCopy®)
- Remote mirror and copy
The following functions of remote mirror and
copy are available:
- Metro Mirror (previously
known as Synchronous PPRC)
- Global Copy (previously
known as PPRC Extended Distance)
- Global Mirror (previously
known as Asynchronous PPRC)
- Remote mirror for z/OS®
You can manage Copy Services functions using any of the following methods:
- IBM® System
Storage™ DS CLI (command-line
interface)
- IBM System
Storage DS Storage Manager (Web-based
interface)
- DS API (application programming interface)
- Host I/O commands from zSeries servers
