Storage Unit Properties

Use this page to view, define, and modify general storage unit information.

Real-time manager or Simulated manager > Manage hardware > Storage units > Select a storage unit > Select Action: Properties > Go

MTMS: The storage unit machine type and serial number (MTS). For a simulated configuration, this value is shown only if you downloaded the configuration from the storage unit. A storage unit serial number ends in a 0. By comparison, a storage image serial number ends in 1 - 8 (or 1 - 2 for the 9A2).
Machine signature: The storage unit serial number.
WWNN: The storage unit world wide node name (WWNN). For a simulated configuration, this value is shown only if you downloaded the configuration from the storage unit.
Processor card 1 MAC address: The IP address of the processor card 1 MAC. This is displayed if DHCP is being used.
Processor card 2 MAC address: The IP address of the processor card 2 MAC. This is displayed if DHCP is being used.
Nickname: This field must have an entry before the OK button is enabled. If you delete the current entry and select Cancel, the last saved nickname remains unchanged.
Description: A user-specified description, limited to 256 characters.
