This is a directory of files to get root access of, upgrade, 
and permanently remove the old remote tethered license system 
for the discontinued-but-still-useful Nortel BCM50 telephone 
system, often found second hand for next to nothing, and also 
sadly crippled by a licensing system no longer supported. 

This is years of work by some enthusiasts finally put together 
into a build that finally severs the need to associate with 
Avaya in dealing with the BCM50. 

This contains a full hard drive (ssd) image, and tools or 
utils to get this up on most any old BCM50 purchased or from 
a bin/dumpster/skip/poubelle. 

Once up, you can use the fantastic T-series sets, set up a 
SIP trunk (with 12 channels) to your favourite SIP provider, 
and enjoy all the other nutty features of the system. 

The license file need only be edited on-the-fly to enable 
any features required, or remove unneeded ones. No Keycode 
web site is needed. 

It's unlocked to the owner, and most importantly, a full 
factory reset (Level 2 reset) will not require any more 
fiddling - the system is completely untethered, and free. 

The release was aptly named: ELR6 "Extended Life Release 6"
