When you log in to Novell® Messenger, the Novell Messenger icon is added to the Windows* system tray.
If you are using Novell Messenger with GroupWise, the username and password you use to log in may or may not be the same as your GroupWise username and password, depending on how your GroupWise system has been set up. Check with your system administrator.
When you are logged out but have the Novell Messenger window displayed, you can select Log In or Log In As from the File menu. Log In allows you to log back in as yourself. Log In As allows another user to log in.
Log Out logs you out of Novell Messenger but does not close the main window or exit Novell Messenger.
There are two other options on the main File menu: Close this Window closes the Novell Messenger window but leaves the icon in the system tray. Exit logs you out of Novell Messenger, closes the Novell Messenger window, and removes the icon from the system tray.
If at any time your network or Novell Messenger connection is interrupted, you are logged out of Novell Messenger, but as soon as your connection is restored, you are logged back in. If you are in the middle of a conversation when this happens, the conversation can continue as soon as the connection is restored.
