User General

This property page specifies general Messenger settings for this user and overrides the settings on the General property page of the policy specified in the Policy field below.

After you change information on the General page, users must log out and log back in to the Messenger client to see the results.

Enable Novell Messenger Services
Select this option to enable Messenger for this user.

Archive Sessions
Select this option to archive the conversations of this user.

Allow Users to Search eDirectory for Other Users
Select this option to allow this user to perform searches in Novell® eDirectory for contacts. If you disable this option, this user can add only known eDirectory user IDs to his or her contact list.

Allow Users to Send Broadcast Messages to other Users
Select this option to allow this user to send broadcast messages to other users on the system.

Allow Users to Send System Broadcast Messages
Select this option to allow this user to send broadcast messages delivered to all users on the system.

Allow Users to Join Chat Rooms
Select this option to allow this user to join chat rooms.

Allow Users to Create Chat Rooms
Select this option to allow this user to create and manage chat rooms.

Allow Users to Change Their Password
Select this option to allow this user to change his or her eDirectory password in the Messenger client. This adds a Change Password option to the client Tools menu.

Allow Users to Use Remember Password
Select this option to allow this user to select if he or she wants Messenger to remember the password.If you disable this option, this user must always enter a password.

Enable Conferencing Integrations
Select this option to allow this user to launch Novell Conferencing meetings directly from the Messenger client.

Default Host
If you have set up multiple host profiles, browse to and select the host profile that applies to this user.

Scope Profile
If you want this user to have a different Messenger system scope from other users, browse to and select the scope profile that defines where this user can search for other Messenger users.

Policy
Browse to and select the policy to govern this user. If this field is left blank, the default policy specified on the General property page of the Messenger system object is used.

Last Login
Displays the last time this user logged in to Novell Messenger.

Restore Default Settings
Click to clear any options you have changed and return to the default settings.

Lock Buttons
The lock Buttons indicate whether each setting is locked at the policy or Messenger system level. If a setting is locked, you cannot change the setting at the user level.
