          August 2003

Your DECset kit consists of a group of programmer productivity
tools that aid in the development of system or application soft-
ware on an OpenVMS system. The updated product components for
this release include Code Management System, Digital Test Man-
ager, Language-Sensitive Editor, and Module Management System,
as well as the DECset Environment Manager that provides a single
mechanism for tailoring the execution environment. All other
DECset components are identical to those for the prior DECset
          release.

DECset for OpenVMS Systems, Version 12.5, consists of the fol-
          lowing components:

o Code Management System (CMS), Version 4.2

o Digital Test Manager, Version 4.1

          o Language-Sensitive Editor/Source Code Analyzer (LSE/SCA),
             Version 4.8

o Module Management System (MMS), Version 3.5

o Performance and Coverage Analyzer (PCA), Version 4.7A (Al-
             pha), Version 4.7 (VAX)

          Licensing Information

Before you install DECset Version 12.5, you must first reg-
ister a License Product Authorization Key (License PAK) using
the License Management Facility (LMF). The License PAK may be
shipped along with the kit if you ordered the license and media
together. Otherwise, it is shipped to a separate location based
          on your license order.

There are three kinds of licenses for DECset Version 12.5:

o Unlimited License-Allocates license units on an unlimited
             system use basis.

o Personal Use License-Allocates use of the layered product to
             one identified individual.

o Concurrent use License-Allocates use of the layered product
to any one process at a time.

See the OpenVMS License Management Utility Manual for registra-

          OpenVMS Systems for more information.
