INTRODUCTION:

Thank you for your interest in Goverlan. We firmly believe that this product can significantly lower the T.C.O. (Total Cost of Ownership) of Windows NT for the following reasons:

       * With Goverlan, there is no costly installation and training required.

       * Goverlan reduces end user and support staff downtime by only
requiring the callers name to start trouble-shooting.

       * Goverlan queries data directly from the network, not from a central
database that can may contain non-current data . NT problems are
       quickly diagnosed and repaired real-time.

       * Goverlan has an easy, intuitive and swift interface. Even newly hired
or non-NT knowledgeable personnel can immediately start using it.

       * Goverlan provides many powerful, automated NT support functions
       not found in other tools.

Goverlan is a Windows NT network support and administration software product. It allows administrators and support groups to instantly query key information on a network user: account login history, current logged-in workstations, network/printer connections, processes running, TCP/IP configuration, etc. Plus, Goverlan allows one to add, modify or remove users' network/printer connections, processes, system & user environment variables, and more.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

Goverlan needs to be installed on a Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 2000, Intel, AMD or Cyrix based workstation, there is no server installation needed.
The recommended amount of physical memory is 32 MB RAM or more.

Goverlan has been designed to administer and support a Windows NT/2000 Client/Server network. Even though Goverlan needs to run on a Windows NT4 / 2000 workstation, it is capable of detecting Windows 2000, Windows NT 4.0 and Windows NT 3.51 clients. Goverlan doesn't support Windows 95/98 or Novell. Moreover, Goverlan doesn't support Peer to Peer networks.

Why isn't Goverlan supporting Windows 95/98 ?
Goverlan has a lot of advanced features. Unfortunately, these features are programmed using an API which is not available in Windows 95/98. Even if Goverlan would support Windows 95/98, many of the unique features of Goverlan would not be available under that platform.

Functionality requirements:
The 'Logged-in Workstation Detection Engine' as well as the 'Logged-in Workstations History' features of Goverlan requires a roaming profile configuration for user accounts.

*********************************************
INSTALLATION PROCEDURES:

Run the 'Setup.exe' file from the GoverLANxxxx.zip file or the Goverlan CDROM. The Install Shield will start and guide you through the installation procedure. The installation program will provide you with a 'Un-Install' icon at the same location as the Goverlan icon. The installation of Goverlan will provide you with a complete user manual in a Acrobat Reader format.

Once the program has been installed, select the Goverlan icon to start the program.
